1. Dogs or Cats?  Rabbits ;)

6. When did you start reading? 

 I always loved being read to, but I got really into reading in 3^rd grade. The “Nancy Drew” books were my trigger.

7. What was the last book that made you laugh to tears?

Ahh, I love manga, so I’m going to say High School Debut. I love the quirky love-hate relationship. That’s what I’m all about!

8. What is your under-appreciated novel? 

Generally speaking, I think the indie genre as a whole is underappreciated. There are too many hidden gems that too many people haven’t heard of. That’s why I love reviewers like you that are willing to go indie! Mainly, I’m drawn to unconventional ideas and writing styles. It’s hard to pick just one. I will say I’ve been dying to read Rosehead by Ksenia Anske.

9. When did you start writing? 

 In elementary school, my teacher let me stay in from recess to write. We had a little mock book-maker in the classroom, and I wasted so much paper on that thing! I started writing my first trilogy in 2010 after graduating from college.

10. How do you select the names of your characters? 

 Well, in my first trilogy, many of the names are people I know spelled backwards! After publishing 16 books, though, I’ve exhausted that option. Now, I write down interesting names as they come to me. I have a binder of fantasy and dystopian-sounding names just itching to be plopped into a manuscript.

11. Does writing energize or exhaust you? 

 It depends. Writing is energizing, but editing absolutely drains me. T_T

12.What is the most difficult part of your artistic process? 

 Finding the time to do it! And also focusing once I have the time. I always get the urge to write at the most inconvenient moments. Like in the fitting room at a department store.

13. If you could tell your younger writing self anything what would it be? READ. A lot. And keep a diary. 

14. Do you have something to say to your readers? What? 
 I love you!! For real. I love and appreciate my readers so much! I started out writing just for me. I created worlds I liked and characters that appealed to me. But the writing experience is so much MORE once there are readers involved. When people like my work, I’m like, “Wow. You’re just as weird as I am!” Haha. You guys motivate me! I read your reviews whenever I hit a writing block. <3
